Upcoming Pet Events:

(Nothing listed at the moment, email us with your event!)

HELP: For almost 30 years Animal Assistance League has had a Pet Helpline to help pet owners with pet-related problems. If youhave lost or found a pet, need to find a home for a pet, or need a referral to a veterinarian who will perform spay/neuter surgery at a low cost, please call our Pet Helpline at (714) 978-PETS, fax (714) 978-9832 or e-mail aaloc@juno.com .

FREE SPAYING AND NEUTERING: Santa Ana residents may be eligible for vouchers to have their pets altered and/or microchipped. The vouchers are available from Santa Ana Friends for the Animals, a group that works with the city's Police Animal Services department to assist animal owners and help animals in the city. To obtain a voucher, contact SAFFTA at (714) 245-8727 or info@saffta.org .

HELPING MARINES: The Pet Project Foundation and Coastal Animal Services Authority of San Clemente and Dana Point are helping dogs of deployed Camp Pendleton Marines find homes. The shelter at the Marine base is overflowing with dogs. The San Clemente/Dana Point Animal Shelter has designated four kennels for these dogs. Dogs will be brought to the shelter, 221 Avenida Fabricante, San Clemente, for two weeks. If they aren't adopted during that time, they'll return to Camp Pendleton, to be replaced by other dogs. Anyone interested in adopting one of these dogs whose owners have been deployed should contact the shelter's manager at (714) 492-1617. More information about the shelter is available at www.fosca.org or www.arfpets.org .

RECYCLE FOR ANIMALS: Help homeless animals receive care and love and help the environment. Take rinsed, bagged and separated aluminum cans to Huntington Beach Recycling, 7632 Slater Ave, Huntington Beach. Use this account number: 24080, and you'll be given a check made out to Animal Assistance League of Orange County, a Midway City-basedanimal-rescue group. You can deliver or mail the check. Call the group at (714) 893-4393 for the address.
